Description

These light, crispy, and fluffy waffles are perfect for breakfast or brunch. Serve them with butter, syrup, fresh fruit, or even a dollop of whipped cream for a delightful treat!

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prepare:
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease it with nonstick spray or butter.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.

  • Combine:
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; lumps are okay.

  • Cook the Waffles:
Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron (about ½ cup per waffle, depending on size) and cook according to the waffle iron’s instructions, usually 3-5 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.

  • Serve:
Remove the waffles and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra crispy waffles, place cooked waffles on a wire rack in a 200°F (95°C) oven while making the rest.
  • Substitute half the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
  • Store leftover waffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a toaster or oven.
